Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18, 1985, at Los Angeles. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix demonstrated a talent for athletics before she realized her talent for sprinting when she was at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her first attempt, Felix placed second in the 200 meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix has graduated high school in 2003, signed the sports contract with Adidas. After that, she enrolled at in the University of Southern California and completed her studies in elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal was at the 2004 Summer Olympics, in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 secs. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix was named the world's youngest champion for the 200 meter race. She was able to defend the title for the second time in 2007 by beating her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She always finished among the top three in all events.
